Modern Slavery Policy

Our commitment to preventing modern slavery in our operations and supply chains

Purpose

This policy outlines Acumenis' commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in its operations and supply chains. While not legally required to report under the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), Acumenis recognises its ethical responsibility to uphold human rights and promote fair labour practices.

Scope

This policy applies to all directors, employees, suppliers, and business partners of Acumenis. It covers operations within Australia and any procurement or supply chain activities involving external organisations.

Our Commitment

Acumenis is committed to:

  • Conducting business ethically and with integrity
  • Ensuring that modern slavery does not occur in any part of our business or supply chains
  • Supporting transparency and accountability in our approach to tackling modern slavery

Definition of Modern Slavery

Modern slavery includes serious exploitation such as:

  • Human trafficking
  • Slavery and servitude
  • Forced labour
  • Debt bondage
  • Deceptive recruitment
  • Deductions from wages as a disciplinary measure
  • Withholding worker identity or immigration documents
  • Forced marriage
  • Commercial sex act
  • Child labour, in accordance with the definition used by the International Labour Organisation

These practices are criminal offences under Australian law and are incompatible with our values.

Employment Practices

Acumenis only employs staff directly within Australia under lawful employment agreements. We:

  • Comply with all Australian workplace laws and standards
  • Ensure fair wages, safe working conditions, and freedom from coercion
  • Do not use contractors or labour hire arrangements
  • Perform Right to Work and Proof of Age checks for new employees

Supply Chain Management

As a provider of professional services, our supply chain is limited and primarily involves Australian-based organisations. We:

  • Perform due diligence and reviews to evaluate the modern slavery risks of each new supplier
  • May request suppliers to confirm their compliance with modern slavery laws
  • Reserve the right to cease relationships with suppliers who fail to meet our ethical standards

Risk Assessment

Given our operational model, the risk of modern slavery is considered low. However, we remain vigilant and:

  • Periodically review our supply chain for potential risks
  • Maintain awareness of industry developments and best practices

Reporting and Grievance Mechanisms

Employees and stakeholders are encouraged to report concerns related to modern slavery or unethical practices. Reports can be made confidentially to:

  • feedback@acumenis.com.au

All reports will be investigated promptly and fairly.

Training and Awareness

We provide training to relevant staff to enable them to:

  • Recognise signs of modern slavery
  • Understand their responsibilities under this policy
  • Promote ethical decision-making
  • Escalate potential modern slavery risks within our operations or supply chains

Review and Continuous Improvement

This policy is reviewed annually or as needed to reflect changes in legislation, business operations, or supply chain risks.
